The following is a list of 2009 committees that are open to all members of the association. All Committees report to the Board of Directors and meet as needed. Please contact the HBA office at (803) 641-6863 if you are interested in joining one. We need your expertise! |

LEGISLATIVE – PAC – Governmental Affairs – Monitors Local, State & Federal Legislative issues concerning the construction industry. Works and coordinates the Build PAC for both the local and state. Interviews candidates for office, makes recommendations for sponsorship, hosts appreciation dinner. Members will rotate attendance at City/County Council meetings where the HBA needs representation and reports to the committee.

FINANCE - Budget and Investments. Monitors the monthly, quarterly, and annual finances of the association and makes recommendations as needed. Prepares annual budget for Board review.

MEMBERSHIP – Recruits new members, monitors retention. Schedules and coordinates membership drives/activities. Plans the New Member Social that precedes the general membership meetings.

SEMINAR COMMITTEE– Identifies topics, instructors, and schedules seminars / workshops for members for credit baring coursework. Coordinates all aspects of the process.

HBA OF AIKEN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – Committee reviews and sets scholarship guidelines. Finds opportunities for scholarship awards and reviews all paperwork that is submitted for scholarship.

GOLF TOURNAMENT – This committee coordinates the advertising, sponsors, food, beverages, awards, and supplies for the spring golf tournament.
